Have you ever wondered where the Torah came from? The word “Torah” refers to the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Filled with classic—and often troubling—stories, this literature has profoundly impacted the development of Judaism and Christianity.

This formation event will familiarize you with select Torah stories and introduce major theories about how and when they were written. We will then consider how each theory shapes our interpretation and how we think and talk about God.

Join us at 6p next Wednesday for dinner and conversation. This class will be facilitated by our parishioner Evan Vossman, who is a PhD student at Hebrew Union College and beloved member of the Advent community.
